Based on a true story, CHINA SALESMAN takes us on a dangerous and epic adventure to Africa where a Chinese salesman comes face-to-face with a corrupt competitor over a prized telecom deal. Local tribesman KABBAH (Mike Tyson) and mercenary LAUDER (Steven Seagal) take up opposite sides in a brutal hand-to-hand fight while the entire region threatens to explode in a dangerous civil war.
Spoilers ahead..This is a very interesting film about communication technology. The highlight of this film is a fight that occurs early in the film between Steven Seagal and Mike Tyson. Most of the action in this film involves shooting. Seagal only has two fights. The second fight occurs while Seagal's character is on a motorbike and it probably involved a stunt double. At times the dubbing is poor and the lips don't match the sound. Seagal and Tyson portray shady characters who break the law but eventually decide to do the right thing. I enjoyed this film because the China Salesman was a noble and likable character who wanted to improve communication in Africa. He was honorable and he was not concerned with money. He just wanted to help people and and his company. Tyson has a large role here and does his best as a murderous villain loyal to his clan. Fans of Tyson will enjoy watching Tyson fight and destroy people. Mr. Li stars as Yan and he carries the film. Yan doesn't know martial arts. He constantly gets beat down but he never gives up. He uses his intelligence and cunning to improve the lives of others by enhancing the communication technology in the world. Recommended for fans of Li, Tyson and Seagal. The film has a great deal of violent gun play. No sex.
